The Political Mendoza line – where the total number of minor party and non affiliated voters exceeds the members of a major party – is coming faster than we predicted.
At the end of August, 2013 there were only 16,109 more Republicans than there were non major party voters. The gap had been closing at an average monthly rate of 2,660. But Septembers registration numbers were just released and the gap shrank by 3,883. 150% of the average. The gap is now just 12,226, with Democrats making up 39.1%, Republicans at 30.7% and all others at 30.2%
